  • Habit and Routine Data: Information you enter into the app (habit names, schedules, notes) is stored locally on your device. This data belongs to you and is not uploaded to our servers.

  • Purchase Information: If you choose to unlock premium features, payment details are handled securely by Google Play Billing. We do not see or store your credit/debit card details.

  • Support Communication: If you contact us via email, we may receive your name, email address, and any information you include in your message. This is used only for support purposes.

We do not collect sensitive personal data such as passwords, financial details, contacts, or biometric identifiers through Habit Tracker.

How We Use the Information

The information we collect is used exclusively to make the Habit Tracker app more effective and reliable:

  1. App Functionality: Permissions such as alarms and boot completion allow reminders to work consistently, even if you restart your device.

  2. Personalization: Anonymous analytics help us understand which features are useful, allowing us to improve the design and user experience.

  3. Monetization: If ads are served, advertising data helps deliver relevant ads and support free access to the app.

  4. In-App Purchases: Google Play Billing is used to process payments when you upgrade to premium.

Permissions Used in Habit Tracker

  1. RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

    • Why needed: This permission allows the app to automatically re-schedule alarms and reminders after your device has been restarted. Without this, your habit notifications may stop working.

    • How used: The app listens for the system event that indicates the device has completed booting, and then restores scheduled alarms.

    • Assurance: This does not give us access to your personal files or activities—it is limited only to ensuring your reminders remain active.

  2. SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM and USE_EXACT_ALARM

    • Why needed: These permissions are used to set precise habit reminders and notifications (e.g., “Drink water at 9:00 AM” or “Exercise at 6:30 PM”). Unlike inexact alarms, exact alarms ensure timely notifications without delays.

    • How used: The app schedules alarms using Android’s alarm manager APIs to trigger notifications at the exact times you set.

    • Assurance: These permissions are only used to schedule reminders for habits you created. We do not use them for hidden background tracking or unrelated purposes.

  3. com.android.vending.BILLING (Google Play Billing)

    • Why needed: This permission is required to handle in-app purchases and subscriptions (for example, removing ads or unlocking premium features).

    • How used: When you purchase, billing is processed directly by Google Play. We never access or store your full payment details.

    • Assurance: All transactions are protected by Google’s secure payment infrastructure.

By explaining permissions in this way, we want to reassure users that every permission has a justified, limited, and safe purpose.

Third-Party Services

Habit Tracker integrates trusted third-party services to deliver ads, handle billing, and analyze app performance. These partners may collect data in line with their own privacy policies:

Data Retention

  • Local App Data: Habits, schedules, and notes remain stored locally on your device unless you delete the app or clear its data.

The Habit Tracker app is not directed toward children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in regions governed by GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided information, they may contact us to have it deleted.
